CNN reports that Youngkin’s father tried to vote twice, but was denied.
“The young man presented identification, but was not eligible to register due to his age, and was not permitted vote,” Scott O. Konopasek said in a statement to CNN.
Konopasek stated that Youngkin was given a voter register form and encouraged to vote as soon as he was eligible.
Konopasek stated that the 17-year old did not disrupt voting or make false statements.
Youngkin’s campaign claims Youngkin’s son misunderstood Virginia electoral law and went to school after he was told he couldn’t vote.
