Uber Eats allows users in Ontario to order marijuana. The company will not deliver the product however, according to CNN.
Instead, customers will need to pick up their order at a Tokyo Smoke shop.
Canada legalized recreational marijuana use in 2018.
Although the order option for marijuana is currently only available in Canada, Uber’s CEO expressed an interest in the U.S. market.
“When the road is clear for cannabis, when federal laws come into play, we’re absolutely going to take a look at it,” Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi told CNBC in April.
In 18 states, recreational marijuana is legal. It is still illegal under federal law.
Some lawmakers seem open to changing the law.
Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, introduced this month a law that would make marijuana illegal at the federal level.
“We need the federal government just to get out of the way,” she said, according to Politico.
