TikTok deleted approximately 81,000,000 518 thousand 334 videos from April to June this year for violating its rules.
TikTok has been voted the top social network. The discussion about hate speech and harmful conversation has been continued by the Chinese app. These types of platforms are often targeted in widely disseminated forums.
In this sense, TikTok must take action in the same way as it does with its social media counterparts Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. In fact, it has already indicated that in only three months, it had removed more than 81,000,000 videos from its site for violating its terms.
Recent hours saw the Chinese app publish its transparency updateHe stated that between April and June this year, approximately 81,000,000 518 thousand 334 videos were removed by the platform for violating the service regulations.
This represents less than 1% of all videos published during the quarter. The platform estimates that there were more than 8.1 Billion videos published during the quarter. That’s roughly 90 M videos per day.
It is well known that TikTok removed approximately 27 thousand 518 videos in order to be considered materials that misinform on Covid-19.
According to estimates, 83 percent of these materials were removed prior to users reporting them. 87.6 % of these videos were deleted within 24 hours of their posting and 69.7 % of the videos had not been viewed.
This movement adds to other social networks’ efforts to make social media a more healthy place.
TikTok’s new tool automatically removes any content that violates its policies regarding child safety, nudity, adult sexual activities and violence, as well as illegal activities.
