Active Club members aged between 20 and 30 showed “Don Juan Tercera Dosis Tenorio”, an extreme version of traditional Zorrilla.
In line with the noble purpose of raising funds for Juarense children, Ciudad Juárez’s Club Active 20-30 will host the 62nd José Zorrilla’s traditional stage performance “Don Juan Tenorio” on the 19th, 20th and November 21st. Nito Juarez Municipal Auditorium.
As usual, the play will be adapted into a humor dealing with Juarez, Mexico, and the world’s most transcendent themes. Juan Tercera Dosis Tenorio
“We call it the ‘third dose’, because all vaccines come in two doses. The third dose is comical, so that’s why we call it that. Christian Navarro from the landscape project said that they will tackle current international as well as local issues, including pandemics, BRT, and Bravos work with Tuca’s arrival.
This year, all roles will be played by men. There are 13 actors who will be performing on the stage. Some are already well-known by the local theater community like Osvaldo Esparza, Freddy Rivera and Alonso Rojas El Malilla.
The six-act assembly takes about 1 hour 40 minutes and is based Zorrilla’s 1844 work. This romantic drama brings a comedy touch to the issue.
Santiago Aguilar directs “Don Juan Terceira Dosis Tenorio”, and has been responsible for rehearsals for the past two months.
Navarro stated that while partners accounted for 80%, there were also new partners who joined the group and are now ready to take the stage. It is difficult to perform this feat in front of the public due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since 1959, the seasonal political and social satire has been one of the club’s activities to support various humanitarian projects.
“Childhood on Wheels” is a project that supports low-income children with special or basic wheelchairs.
Navarro said that there are other ways to help students, such as providing school supplies and computers. Because of the occurrences of medical emergencies, it is more important than ever to ensure that they have the right equipment for virtual learning.
