A new survey finds that international students are returning to U.S. colleges in stronger numbers, but the rebound has yet to make up for last year’s historic declines.
The increase in international students to American colleges was 4% this fall across the country, however, it follows a decline of 15% last year.
That’s according to new survey results released Monday by the Institute of International Education.
The COVID-19 case surged and the upturn is much better than what many colleges expected.
However, it is still a sign of continued difficulties as visa backlogs persist. Some students also show reluctance when studying abroad during the pandemic.
