AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas abortion providers are again asking the U.S. Supreme Court to pass a new state law banning most abortions.
Thursday’s petition comes just weeks after the law was approved by a divided court.
The abortion providers claim it has forced women to travel hundreds to have an abortion.
Out-of-state clinics, they claim, are not as efficient as Texas.
Since 1973 Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court declared that abortion rights are protected by Texas law.
NBC News Similar requests are rarely granted, according to reports. They bypass lower courts.
December will see a hearing at the federal appeals court.
