Target plans to hire 100,000 new employees at its stores across the country this holiday season.
The company has employed about 30,000 fewer people in the past few years. according to CNBC.
Target claims its new model will enable its employees to work longer hours and have more flexibility in their schedules.
“This summer, Target launched a convenient, easy-to-use mobile scheduling app for all store team members to make it easier for them to take extra hours and switch available shifts,” Target said.
Goal increased His starting wage will increase to $15 per hour by 2020.
Target also stated that seasonal employees will be able to work long-term roles with the company.
Amazon announced earlier this month that it was hiring 100,000 workers.
Walmart has not made its seasonal workforce plans public.
