Sylvia Weinstock, known as “Queens of Cakes”, died Monday at her New York City residence.
According to a statement, Weinstock was surrounded at her funeral by her family. Instagram account.
Weinstock claimed that she started making wedding cakes in her 50s after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Mariah Carey, Oprah, and Jennifer Lopez all admired her cakes.
“Her trademark was an exquisite cake that dazzled the eyes, but also delighted the palate. It had to be as delicious and beautiful as it looked,” said the Instagram post.
Weinstock has appeared on many TV shows, including “Master Chef”, Gossip Girl and Netflix’s “Nailed It”.
Weinstock was 91.
