Southwest Airlines CEO has apologized after a weekend of service disruptions left many passengers across the country without services.
The following is an interviewGary Kelly stated, in “Good Morning America”, that what happened was “not the way we want.”
Kelly indicated that it would take “a couple days to get things on track.”
The Associated Press reported that the Dallas-based airline initially blamed weather and air traffic control issues for “operational challenges” caused widespread flight cancellations.
Surprisingly, however, the Federal Aviation Administration responded to those claims by saying that in “a tweetThey have not received any reports of traffic problems since Friday.
Kelly admitted that the cancellations were not caused by air traffic control issues but rather “a series FAA Florida delay programmes” on Friday which contributed to the cancellations.
ABC News reported that over 2,200 flights have been cancelled since Sunday.
