“It really feels like the FBI turned a blind eye and is determined to protect the U.S. When he addressed the Senate, he stated that the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and Gymnastics Federation were responsible.
Mexico City (apro).-Since Simone Byers appeared before a U.S. Senate panel, Simone Byers alleged that the FBI had turned a blindeye to the allegations of sexual abuse she and her partner suffered at the hands the former national gymnastics team. Dr. Thrall.
Byers testified that it felt like the FBI had turned a blindeye and was determined to protect US Gymnastics and US Olympic and Paralympic Committees (USOPC). Naxal also used three others to abuse them. Gymnasts working together.
To be clear, Larry Naxal is to blame and the whole system for his abuse. Byers claimed that US Gymnastics and the Olympic Committee are aware of my abuse by team doctors.
Larry Nassar (Larry Nassar), has been a doctor for the US women’s gymnastics team for almost two decades. He was accused of sexual abuse by more than 100 athletes. He was convicted of multiple federal and state charges in 2017. He is currently serving a life sentence without parole.
Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney also testified that she was “shocked and deeply disappointed” that the FBI had not reported her sexual abuse and lied. She described in detail an incident where she was abused while alone with Naxal.
“A few seconds later, his fingertips went into my genital area,” he stated. An FBI agent asked him if he was describing the attack. “It seemed that my abuse wasn’t sufficient,” he stated.
“The FBI did not report my abuse. They also recorded my report 17 years later and made a totally wrong statement about what they said. They chose to lie about my statements. Maroni stressed the importance of protecting a serial child molester, not only to me but also to other girls.”
“If our FBI agents were going to bury that report then what’s the point of reporting abuse?” They have the legal evidence that child abuse occurred, but they did not do anything,” he said.
Aly Raisman, the Olympic gymnast and Maggie Nichols, the college gymnast, also testified at the Senate hearing. She was a part of the national team but was not allowed to compete in the Olympics because she sued Larry Nassar.
“I was forced by the FBI to accept Nassar’s plea deal. Raisman stated that the FBI, American Gymnastics Association, and USOPC knew that Nassar abused girls sexually and didn’t take any steps to stop it.
The gymnasts were present in person and stated that they had the courage to share their stories publicly to stop sexual abuse occurring again.
Senators criticised the FBI for failing to fully investigate evidence regarding Nassar’s sexual abuse.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin said: “The FBI’s failure in the investigation of Naxal is a shocking demonstration of the FBI’s negligence and gross incompetence in performing its duties.”
“Our focus today is the FBI: Why did it fail to respect the victims of Larry Nassar? “It is clear that serious failures such as this didn’t happen in a vacuum,” Durbin said.
FBI Director Christopher Ray intends to appear separately before the court alongside Justice Department Inspector-General Michael Horowitz.
A July report by Horowitz found that senior officials in the FBI’s Indianapolis field office did not respond quickly to allegations of sexual abuse and it took more than a year to investigate.
