The assailant was killed by the police
Green Bay- Wisconsin authorities said on Sunday that a gunman killed two people at the Green Bay Casino on Saturday night, wounded a third seriously, and was shot dead by police.
Investigators believe that the attacker intended to attack a specific person who was angry with him, but that person was not in the Oneida Casino at the time. Brown County Sheriff Lieutenant Kevin Parak said: “This man “obviously decided to shoot some colleagues or friends of the victim.”
Initially, neither the aggressor nor the victim was identified.
Pawlak is not sure if the shooter is a former restaurant employee, although “seems to have some relationship with the employee.”
He said: “We are still determining whether they are all working there.”
Parak said the injured were taken to a hospital in Milwaukee.
The attack took place at around 7:30 pm in an organization operated by Oneida Nation on the west side of Green Bay.
State Attorney General Josh Kaul tweeted before 10pm, saying that the place was “under control. It no longer poses a threat to the community”. He did not provide more details, and a spokesperson for the prosecution did not immediately respond to comments.
The Green Bay Police Department and the Brown County Police Department told the Associated Press that they did not have detailed information about the incident at the casino.
Witness Jawad Yatim said at least two people were shot dead.
Yatim said: “I must know two people, because he passed by us, literally next to us. But he shot very fiercely on that building, so I have no doubt that he would beat people.”
Yatim said the shooting started in a casino restaurant.
He said: “We ran out there, thank God, we are fine, but obviously, we want everyone who was shot to feel the best.”
The tribe’s spokeswoman, Bobbi Webster, said the casino is connected to the large hotel and convention center Radisson, which is also owned by Oneida Nation.
Casino client Max Westphal (Max Westphal) said he was not outside the venue after he was deported because he thought it was a trivial matter.
Westphal told WBAY-TV: “Suddenly we heard a sudden sound. There are no doubt about 20 or 30 photos.” “We ran towards the street…about 50 police cars came off the highway. . It’s crazy.”
Governor Tony Evers issued a statement on Saturday night that he was “shocked” by the shooting, without elaborating.
He added: “While waiting for more information, we believe in and pray for the recovery of the injured. We are grateful to the emergency services. This situation has responded quickly to this situation.”
The Onida tribe reserve is located in the west of the Green Bay area.
