A few hopeful Oscars meet tonight
Several Oscars hopeful people will meet tonight at the SAG Awards Ceremony of the American Screen Actors Association, although this is the same as the past tense of most events in the past year, both virtual and at a distance from society.
Usually held in a star-studded ballroom in Los Angeles, this year’s awards ceremony will be a simple one-hour event that recognizes the best actors in the film and television industry through pre-recorded clips. The show will include SAG’s iconic opening “I am an actor”, in which the stars describe what their craft means to them.
Contending for the highest honor of the night, the film for the best actor in a movie is “Marrene’s “Black Background” (Mother of Blues)”, “Minari”, “A Night in Miami…” (“Miami… , “Up to 5 Blood” (“5 Blood”) and “Chicago 7 Trial” (“Chicago 7 Trial”).
This category has always been a reliable indicator of which movie will win the Oscar for Best Picture, including last year’s “Parasite” which won two awards. (Actors account for the largest percentage of voters in film academies.)
Chadwick Boseman died in August at the age of 43. He has received four nominations in the field of film photography, including actor nominations for two films.
In the TV category, “Crown”, “Sit Creek” and “Ozark” ranked first in the list of candidates. All nominations for best actress in the drama series are “The Crown” (Jilian Anderson, Olivia Coleman, Emma Colin) or “Ozark” (Laura Linni, Julia) ·Ghana).
The ceremony will be broadcast on TNT and TBS at 9pm New York time (0100 GMT).
