ALBANY, NY (AP) — A prosecutor investigating allegations that former New York governor Andrew Cuomo groped a woman has asked a judge for more time.
David Soares, Albany County District attorney, wrote Friday that the charges against the local sheriff last week were “possibly flawed.”
This request comes a week after Cuomo was accused of sex crimes in the sheriff’s complaint.
In a letter to Judge Holly Trexler, Soares stated that although his office had been conducting an investigation for several months into the case, he still has large amounts of material to review.
According to a spokesperson for Soares, the court granted a reprieve from January 7th 2022.
Cuomo quit as governor in New York after he was accused of sexual misconduct. He denied any wrongdoing.
