Pope Francis has urged Slovaks to look out for those most in need as he completes a four-day pilgrimage to the central European country.
A cheering crowd of maskless people lined Francis’ route to the National Shrine at Sastin.
They were given a slow-moving Popemobile tour, and a smiling, waving Francis. Organisers claimed that 60,000 people attended mass. It was the largest event of the pope’s four day pilgrimage to Slovakia.
To gain access, they had to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Many thousand of unvaccinated pilgrims were permitted in after proving that they had been vaccinated.
After a four-day pilgrimage through Hungary and Slovakia, Francis only held a mass on Wednesday.
