Police in Collierville, Tennessee, will provide an update Friday on a shooting at a local grocery store that left one person dead and a dozen others injured.
At a Kroger store about 30 miles east from Memphis, the shooting took place on Thursday at around 1:30 PM CT. The suspect shooter was discovered dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot injury.
The incident was quickly investigated by police. Later, bomb technicians were called to the scene from an abundance of caution. However, it was not clear what was discovered. Later, officials stated that the community was safe.
As of Friday morning, the identity of the shooter as well as the victims was not made public.
Police are expected to address the media at 10 a.m. CT.
