Police say that a Brooklyn woman was arrested by authorities for allegedly shooting her ex and another woman in Brooklyn.
At a press conference, Assistant Chief Michael Kemper stated that officers were contacted multiple times about a shooting at a house at 5:05 p.m. on Friday.
Officers arrived on the scene to be met by a woman who claimed she had shot someone in the house.
After gaining entry into the home, officers discovered a 24-year old woman who had been shot in the living area and a 23 year-old woman who had been shot in her bedroom.
Kemper claimed that the suspect, aged 23, and Kemper were previously in a relationship.
Kemper claims that the victim, a 24-year-old woman, was shot in her chest. Kemper also says that the victim, a 23-year old woman, was shot in her torso.
Both were taken to a nearby hospital where the 24-year-old victim was declared dead at 5:54 pm.
According to police, the 23-year old was expected to live.
Kemper revealed to reporters that the suspect was a 31-year old police officer who had worked at the Brooklyn South precinct.
Kemper says that it was initially believed that the suspect waited inside the house before the victims arrived home.
