Police in Canada say a man was crushed by his own vehicle while waiting in a drive-thru at McDonald’s.
According to the Vancouver Police Department, officers were called to the scene around 5:30 a.m. last week to assist in a single-vehicle accident.
Surveillance footage shows the driver dropping an item in his car while trying pay for his order at McDonald’s.
When he reached out to pick up what the… Vancouver sun. reported as his charge card, police said his vehicle was moving forward and “collided with a structural part of the restaurant.”
Police stated that the driver could not get out of the vehicle as he was stuck between the vehicle’s door and its frame.
Police said that the man died on the spot after first responders attempted to revive him.
Constable Tania visintin stated in a press release that “this is an absolutely heartbreaking situation.” “Our deepest sympathy goes out to the man’s family members and friends.”
The investigation was taken over by the Collision Investigation Unit of the Department and British Columbia Coroner Services.
