Police Captain Jeff Sellars said the shooting took place around 7pm on Saturday night in the Royal Oak Development District in Pierce Township, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of Cincinnati.
A man named 911 said that some people refused to leave their homes and they had weapons in their homes.
The two officers were shot dead during the confrontation. The injured policeman was stabilized in the hospital.
The identities of the police and suspects arrested at around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday were not even released.
