CABO SAN LUCAS (AP) – Hurricane Olaf is back to tropical storm strength after hitting Los Cabos resorts on the tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula with 100 mph winds. Then, it drenched the region in torrential rainfall.
According to the US National Hurricane Center, winds dropped to 40 mph Friday afternoon.
Local residents spent at least 700 nights in shelters. An estimated 20,000 tourists settled in hotels.
Officials claim they don’t have any reports of people being killed.
