The missile will be launched from various regions inland of Asian countries at noon. The US and South Korean intelligence agencies launched an investigation into the matter and have begun to analyze it.
Madrid, 15th (European News Agency)-According to Japanese and South Korean authorities, North Korean authorities launched two ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan (also known as the East China Sea) on Wednesday.
South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported that at first, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that “an unidentified projectile” had been fired, but it later revealed that it was two ballistic missiles.
At noon, the missile will be launched from different regions inland of Asian nations. The intelligence agencies of South Korea and the United States have begun an investigation to determine the facts. The South Korean Army stated that “In this respect, our army maintains the initial position of strengthening cooperation with the United States.”
Although the Japanese government confirmed the launch, Kiodo News Agency noted that the Ministry of Defense had initially rejected the possibility of missiles reaching Japanese territory.
“North Korea’s recent repeated launches of ballistic missiles and other projectiles are a serious problem for Japan and the entire international community,” the ministry condemned.
The Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga convened a meeting with the National Security Council to request information from the government while protecting air and maritime traffic.
It stated in a statement that North Korea had repeatedly fired missiles and other projectiles, creating problems for Japan and all of the international community.
Russian officials urged Seoul to refrain from escalating tensions in the area. Dimitri Peskov, a Kremlin spokesperson, said that both sides should avoid any actions that could lead to an increase in tensions.
This is the fifth such North Korean demonstration this year. It was held two days after North Korea completed the test of its new long-range missile cruise missile. The two-year-old research had been completed.
Because of the UN resolution prohibiting ballistic missile testing, North Korea is now subject to international sanctions. The Asian country does not sanction cruise missiles because they are constantly using their own propellers.
