TLALNEPANTLA, Mexico (AP) — A section of mountain on the outskirts of Mexico City has given way, plunging rocks the size of small homes onto a densely populated neighborhood and leaving at least one person dead and at least 10 missing.
Rescue teams scaled a three-story pile made of rock, where homes were located in Tlalnepantla’s Tlalnepantla neighbourhood on Friday.
They slowly excavate areas in search of people below.
Images of the area showed Chiquihuite’s steep, green side rising above a field filled with rubble. There were homes on each side.
