Seattle-Kyler Murray was once more replaced by Colt McCoy, who threw 328 yards and two touchdowns. Today, the Arizona Cardinals beat the Seattle Seahawks 23-13.
McCoy passed Russell Wilson in the first game he played in front of Seattle fans after completing 35 of his 44 attempts. McCoy completed a one-yard touchdown pass to Zach Eltz and a two-yard pass to McCoy in the first quarter. He had great luck in the third quarter. An instant replay review did not allow for an interception at that point. A game is an aerial pass of more than 300 yards.
McCoy was a Seattle starter for the second season in a row and won the game. McCoy last year played for the New York Giants. Murray injured his ankle in an accident that prevented him from playing in the third consecutive season.
DeeJay Dalton scored 2 yards with 7 minutes remaining in the game after hitting 20 passes offensively without scoring a touchdown. This gave Seattle a 16-13 lead. Tyler Lockett took the ball at 48 yards.
Arizona (9-2) had 92 yards and 82.5 yards of offense in the first period, which was 16 minutes shorter than the actual game time. Seattle had hope when Matt Platt’s 36-yard field goal gave them hope.
McCoy won the game with a second sustained offense. He also passed 20 yards to Oetz in each of the third and seven quarters. James Connor ran a one-yard touchdown in the final seconds of the game.
