Juarense won the state competition recently, which enabled them to receive tickets to the Fimba National Championship in Mexico City (November 11th-15th).
The Juarez Masters Women’s Basketball Team participated in the national tournament held in Querétaro last week and won the runner-up. This is to prepare for next month’s International Maxibasquet Federation (Fimba). Juarez’s team is the defending champion.
“We are runners-up, unfortunately we failed to win it this time,” Vazquez said of the competition held in the Querétaro area.
Players led by coach José Luis Vázquez recently won a state game, which allowed them to get admission to Fimba’s National Championship to be held in Mexico City from November 11th to 15th Coupons.
The competition attracted 12 teams representing different parts of Mexico, including 12 women from the 50-year old group. Chiapas, Michoacán, Mexico City, Aguascalientes, Querétaro, La Laguna, Puebla, Jalisco, Sinaloa, Guanahua The states of Toulouse, Zacatecas and Quinteta in Juarez.
Juarez’s master coach said that the tournament is organized annually by the International Major Basketball Association (AMI) and presided over by Clemente Estrada.
Each of the four groups consists of three teams. The semi-finals are decided by the winner in each department.
Juarez won the three first games of the regular-season. They had to meet the representatives from Mexico City in the semifinals. They beat them by 42 to 38, and they won the tickets to the finals.
Vazquez stated that the game was close from beginning to end, but we didn’t win. The final score was 38 to 32. “This match helped us adapt our strategy to the Fimba Mexico national team to be held in Mexico City, November 11th-15th. This is Mexico’s largest basketball tournament. The current champion is us. title.”
They faced Zacatecas in the championship finals, which eliminated Michoacan from the semifinals.
