Today, October 13, will be ‘NoBraDay. This is a day where you don’t need a bra. MetroLeora (23) was interviewed by me. She has been celebrating “NoBraDay” almost every day for the past three years.
The day falls on World Breast Cancer Month. The day’s purpose is to raise awareness about the dangers of breast cancer. Participants are checked immediately to determine if they have breast cancer symptoms.
Leora (23 years old) has not worn a bra in three years. Leora (23) says that if she does wear a bra it is a brallette, which is a non-padded bra with no underwire. “All those braces and things are so tight. It gets tedious. Aside from that, it isn’t offensive if you only see one nipple, as they are just like everyone else. It all depends on what outfit you are wearing, and in many cases it is not noticeable.
Leora regards the extra benefits as an added bonus. French researchStudies have shown that removing bras from the body has significant health advantages. The study involved 330 volunteers between the ages 18 and 35 who were tracked for 15 years. The nipple of women who didn’t wear bras was raised seven millimeters each year. They also had firmer breasts and less stretch marks. Bras hinder the growth and deterioration of breast tissue. If you don’t wear bras, your muscles will be more trained.
A glance at the benefits of the study
A bra can sometimes be very helpful. A bra can be very useful on cold days, when you are running to the train or in sports. Leora: “When it’s cold I think it’s cool to wear a bra”, she laughs. “Even if it’s a place where there are reactions, even if I don’t feel like it for awhile, I wear one.”
NoBraDay was started by an anonymous Twitter user to raise awareness about breast cancer. Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women. From researchThe Netherlands has 1 in 7 cases of breast cancer. In 2020, 13,200 breast cancer cases were reported. While survival rates for breast cancer have increased in recent years, there are still more than 3000 people who die every year.
Leora believes the NoBraDay initiative is a fantastic way to raise awareness about breast cancer. “Everyone knows or knew someone with the disease.” According to her, breast cancer awareness is not in whether or not to wear a bra. Breast cancer awareness is not about whether or not you wear a bra. Women who wear bras can be informed as well.
