The legendary “thin, thin” sound made famous by the original “Law & Order” returns.
On Tuesdays, Wolf Entertainment announced the news that the beloved show that ended abruptly 11 years ago is being brought back by NBC for its 21st season.
In the same format, the Mothership series will continue in 2010, and “investigate both the police investigating crime” and the prosecutors prosecuting perpetrators.
According to The Hollywood ReporterBefore the show was canceled, “Law & Order” was a season away from breaking the 20-season record of “Gunsmoke’s” as the longest-running primetime drama series on TV.
THR reported that Wolf did this a few years back with “Law & Order SVU.”
Dick Wolf, a showman, will executive produce. Arthur Forney, Peter Jankowski and Rick Eid will also serve as writer-showrunners.
Wolf stated in a statement that there are few things in life which are truly dreams coming true. This is my dream.
Fans can expect to see familiar characters from the original series, including Sam Waterston, Leslie Hendrix, and S. Epatha Merkerson, returning. However, no cast announcements are yet made.
