A number of Border Judo athletes qualified for the Pan American Championships. They will be held from November 12 to 14 in Dominican Republic.
Judo Abel Lozada and Saúl Fernández won gold medals in their respective categories at the National Judo Championships in Oaxtepec, Morelos, and in this way qualified to participate in the Pan-American tournament to be held on the 12th. Up to the next November 14.
As far as he is concerned, Saúl Fernández participated in the 64 kg competition in the U-15 category and won the championship. He considers this his third national title of the year.
Lozada was 12 years old when he participated in the U-13 Group 52 kg competition. It was his second national medal in 2021.
Since he was three years of age, Abel has been practising judo. Abel learned judo while he was accompanied by his father, who also practices judo.
The two of them participated in the 2021 Professor Tomoka Yamaguchi National Championship in Aguascalientes at the end April. This year, the first national gold medal was won by two border judo competitors.

Saúl trains at the Tecnológico de Juárez dojo. He was awarded the second gold medal in the year at the Conade National Games, Monterrey at June’s end.
After that game, Saúl announced that his next goal is to participate in the Pan American Championship in the Dominican Republic, which he will achieve next month.
Fernandez participated in three games during that game. Fernandez described them as being evenly matched. First, it beat Puebla’s representative. Next, Jalisco’s representative. Finally, Nuevo Leon was defeated.
