A House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has subpoenaed four of former President Donald Trump’s advisers and aides.
White House Chiefs of Staff Mark Meadows and the former White House Deputy Chiefs of Staff for Communications Dan Scavino were subpoenaed. Also, Kashyap Paltel, a former Defense Department official, and Stephen Bannon, a former Trump adviser, were also subpoenaed.
The committee claims that the four men discussed the Jan. 6, rally and the election with top government officials, including Trump.
The committee stated on its website that “Reporting indicates former White House Deputy Chief Of Staff for Communications Daniel Scavino was present with the former President during a discussion on how to convince Members not to certify Joe Biden’s election.”
The subpoenas have not been responded to by Meadows, Scavino and Patel.
They are required to appear at depositions on October 14 or 15.
