Mexico has 93% of the CTOs who believe so.
Many Mexican employees dreamed of having a home office before the pandemic. Although it can be difficult to see the positives of an event like the Covid-19 pandemic in Mexico, many companies were able to see that the home office works and can be very effective.
SOTI, a Canadian mobility company consulted 150 Mexican directors to find out about the difficulties they faced during the pandemic.
Surprised, 93% said mobility technology makes employees more productive. A majority of respondents also said that technology allows them to work remotely and their employees are more engaged.
A second study was done in 2020 and found that the home office increases productivity by 5% in the United States. This is primarily due to the reduction in travel time from home to the office.
Remote work offers many benefits to both the employee and the employer. However, companies also have to face different challenges.
SOTI claims that the security of the mobile devices of the employees and their collaborators was a priority at the home office.
48% invested in the improvement of mobile technology integration within Mexican technology companies over the past year. 34% of them invested in mobility solutions. 30.7% in remote monitoring software. 30% invested in training on the use of mobile devices. 24% invested in security solutions.
One fact that is worth noting is that 20% of the directors of these companies changed the plans of their employees to remote or hybrid schemes, but it doesn’t mention if the salaries conditions were also modified.
The main difference between hybrid and home office work is that hybrid work requires you to be present at the office only a few times per week. Apple and Google, among others, have stated that they plan to adopt hybrid work in departments that permit it next year.
Facebook and Twitter, on the other hand have offered users the opportunity to set up a permanent home office if desired (and if it is possible for them to do so). This was a clear indication that remote work is here in good measure.
