Those planning to travel for Thanksgiving this fall have only a few days left to find good deals on flights.
Hopper — a travel app that shows users the best time to buy airfare — recommends travelers book flights for Thanksgiving in mid-September, meaning there’s only a few days left to scout out the best deals.
Adit Damodaran (Hopper economist) said, “Book by Thanksgiving.” “After Halloween, the three-week period prior to Thanksgiving is when airfares start rising.”
Hopper anticipates Thanksgiving flight ticket prices to rise by at least 40 percent in November.
Experts agree that this week is a great time to search for flights before Christmas. Hopper suggests that travelers book Christmas flights before Halloween or at least four months before their departure.
Hopper expects that airline tickets will be less expensive for vacationers in fall than the high prices of summer.
Damodaran stated that domestic flights will see a 10% drop in cost from $290 per round trip this summer to $260 in fall.
There are more choices. Many low-cost airlines had added popular destinations to their list earlier in the pandemic.
