Lewis meets Max Verstappen to qualify
Lewis Hamilton was the force behind the Formula One Championship’s definition, winning the Qatar Grand Prix for the first time on Sunday.
In less than a week, the Mercedes driver erased his 17-point advantage over Red Bull competitors. These two races remain one of the most highly-anticipated F1 championship races over the past decade.
Hamilton’s second consecutive victory shortened the gap to Max Vertappen’s leader by 8 points.
Verstappen ignored Saturday’s yellow flag and was therefore suspended for five spots at the start. The match commissioner was also called by the Dutch for an investigation into yellow flag violations.
The seven-time world champ started in pole position and held end-to-end command at Losell International Circuit. He is celebrating his 102nd career win and seventh season victory.
