NEW YORK (AP) — A Florida businessman who gained notoriety for helping Rudy Giuliani seek damaging information on Joe Biden in Ukraine has pleaded guilty to seeking illegal foreign campaign contributions.
After reaching a settlement with prosecutors, Igor Fruman pleaded guilty to the charges in Manhattan federal Court.
Fruman’s plea agreement does not require the 56-year-old to cooperate in other cases. His sentence is scheduled for Jan. 21.
Giuliani wasn’t charged in this case but is being investigated for his Ukraine dealings as he was serving as the personal lawyer to Donald Trump.
He denied any wrongdoing.
