The Federal Bureau of Investigation released new documents on Saturday that were declassified. These documents relate to the investigation of 9/11 and possible allegations of Saudi government support.
The 16-page documentThis is the first release of its kind, following President Biden’s executive order last week.
The FBI revealed that they had interviewed a man who was in frequent contact with Saudi nationals in America in 2015. This man, according to the FBI, helped the hijackers arrive in the country in 2015 – Nawaf al-Hazmi (pre-attack) and Khalid al-Mihdhar (pre-attack).
On the 20th anniversary, the document was released. It stated that hijackers had contact in Saudi Arabia with associates in the U.S. but did not conclude that high-ranking Saudi officials were complicit in the attacks.
According to Associated PressSaudi Arabia was the source of 15 of the 19 hijackers.
According to the AP report, the Saudi government has long denied any involvement with the 9/11 attacks.
