Halloween is less than three weeks away. Anthony Fauci explained that children can trick or treat during the coronavirus epidemic this year without having to give sugar.
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and President Biden’s chief medical adviser pointed out that trick-or-treating behavior occurs outside, where the risk of coronavirus transmission is much lower.
Fauci stated that “You can go outside,” during CNN’s “State of the Union” program.
He added, “In most instances, you are outdoors. At least when my kids go out doing tricks or other tricks.” “And enjoy it. It’s a time kids love. It’s an essential part of the year for children. It’s something that my children love, I can tell.
He encouraged all those who were eligible to have their vaccines.
Fauci stated that “if you haven’t been vaccinated, it is worth thinking about. You will be extra protected for yourself, your children and your community.”
He added, “So now’s a good time for reflection on why vaccinations matter, but get out and enjoy Halloween and the other upcoming holidays.”
The COVID-19 vaccination has been approved so far for adults aged 12 and over. In late October, the US Food and Drug Administration will hold a meeting to discuss Pfizer’s request to use vaccines in an emergency situation for children 5-11 years old.
Rochelle Walensky is the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She recently stated that children should have the ability to “trick or Treat” in this year’s election.
She said, “If you can go outdoors, absolutely,” on the CBS “Face the Nation” show.
Varensky said, “Limit the number of people.” “I don’t go to crowded Halloween parties, but I do believe that we should be in a position to allow our children to trick or treat in smaller groups.”
For the first-time in more than two weeks, the daily number of reported cases in the United States fell below 100,000. The number hospitalizations declined to below 10,000 and deaths dropped to less that 2,000.
“So it must have moved in the right direction. Fauci stated that this is great news. “I hope it will continue following this path.
