Facebook has created a new section to promote its audio products against Clubhouse and other competitors.
Facebook is well aware that audio content is a major component of video consumption. Recent trends like the one that starred in Clubhouse show this trend.
The social network that focuses on audio rooms and content had only 1,500 global subscribers until May 2012. It now boasts more than 600,000. Analysts believe the Clubhouse is worth more than $ 100 million.
These cases show that even platforms with more experience in the market are trying to capitalize on new habits and needs for content consumption.
Facebook is an example of this. It just announced a new section that it hopes to use to promote its audio-related proposals.
Recent announcements made by the social network, “Audio”, revealed that it would enable a new destination in its app for iOS or Android.
The new section will allow users access to and host all audio content, including podcasts and audio rooms, from one location.
The launch will also promote the growth and development of Live Audio Rooms (Clubhouse Competition) as well Soundbites. Soundbites are short audios that mimic the style of TikTok.
It is important that we mention that the first test of the new section was visible for some time, but it is now official.
You can access the new section by visiting Facebook Watch and searching for it in the upper navigation.
It is important to note that users will be able to receive personalized recommendations based upon their preferences.
The tool is only currently available for users in the United States. However, it may soon be made available in other markets.
