Today, October 21, 2021 will mark the official opening of the world’s tallest Ferris wheel. The ferris wheel, called the “Ain Dubai”, is 250m high. It is more than eighty meter higher than the ‘High Roller’ Las Vegas.
The name of the Ferris wheel is ‘Ain Dubai’ – which means ‘Dubai Eye’ in Arabic. Bluewaters Island, a artificial island in the vicinity of Dubai Marina, was opened with the Ferris wheel as its centerpiece in 2018.
“The record-breaking Ain Dubai overshadows the 165-metre high Singapore ‘Flyer’ and is almost twice the size of the London Eye,” said Ronald Drake, the attraction’s general manager. The Ferris wheel features forty-eight enclosed cabins that can host up to forty people. At the moment, the attraction can accommodate 1750 people. A 30-eight minute ride offers stunning views of Dubai’s coastline and skyline.
Dubai’s efforts in establishing itself as a world-class tourist destination continues with the opening of “Ain Dubai”. “The swings in oil prices caused by Covid-19 have made it clear that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) needs to diversify away from oil and strengthen other sectors,” said Usman Khalid, assistant professor of economics at the University of the United Arab Emirates. UAE.
Dubai is on the right track to become a top tourist attraction worldwide. Dubai is home of the Burj Khalifa, Dubai’s tallest structure, and Deep Dive Dubai, the deepest pool in the World. XLine, the longest zipline in The World, is also located here.
