Multiple news outlets reported Thursday that Scarlett Johansson, Actress, and Walt Disney Co. reached an agreement to settle a breach-of-contract lawsuit.
“I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney,” Johansson said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come.”
Johansson sued Disney following the release of “Black Widow”, which it had uploaded to its streaming service.
She claimed streaming was a loss of potential earnings, but she also stated that her agreement guaranteed a theatrical release. The Associated Press.
Alan Bergman, Disney Studios Chairman, stated that he was glad that they were able to reach a mutually beneficial agreement with Johansson.
“We are grateful for her contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of upcoming projects, including Disney’s Tower of Terror,” he was quoted in The Hollywood Reporter.
