Disney intends to continue releasing its movies in theaters throughout 2021.
According to multiple reportsDisney’s “Eternals”, The Last Duel”, West Side Story, “West Side Story”, Ron’s Gone Wrong”, “West Side Story” and “The King’s Man”, will be available in theaters for 45 days before Disney+.
Disney will begin releasing its new films on Disney+ and in theaters by early 2021.
“Following the huge box office success of our summer films, including five of the eight best domestic releases of the year, we are excited to update our theatrical plans for the remainder of 2021,” DeadlineKareem Dan, president of Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution, was quoted.
Disney’s animated movie “Encanto” won’t be out for 45 days. Instead, it will be released right around Thanksgiving.
It will be available on Disney+ for 30 days following its theatrical release just in time to celebrate Christmas.
Disney also announced Friday that “The Little Mermaid,” the live-action remake, will be opening on Memorial Day Weekend 2023.
