This is the second European team mathematically listed for the next World Cup
Copenhagen-Denmark now is the second European country to mathematically qualify for the next World Cup. They beat Austria 1-0 Tuesday to maintain their perfect progress.
Denmark is the only European team to have a perfect record during the war.
Joachim Mahler scored a goal in Parken Stadium’s 53rd minute. The Danish team won their eighth consecutive Group F win without conceding a goal.
Christian Eriksen, a star midfielder, was unable to play in the game. However, the Danish national team joined Eriksen, who is still recovering from a heart attack at the European Cup. Despite these chilling events, Denmark did well in the continental competition, and reached the semifinals.
The German team was the first European to qualify for the Qatar team. On Monday, the team was in the group.
On Tuesday, Cristiano Rojo scored another hat-trick to increase his national team’s scoring record from 115 to 58. This was the star’s 58th consecutive three-game win streak with the club. He also defeated Portugal 5-0.
England could qualify for the World Cup. But, England must wait after Wembley’s 1-1 draw against Hungary.
Last month, at the first group match in Budapest, the Hungarian supporters rioted and made racist comments. These incidents led to sanctions and closed-door meetings in Hungary.
At the start, clashes between police and Hungarian supporters ruined the game. According to authorities, a visiting fan made racist comments to a security officer and helped to incite violence.
Sweden defeated Greece by 2-0 in Group B, and was ranked first after Spain. In Group C the Swiss beat Lithuania 4-0, and Italy was surpassed in points.
Portugal is currently one point behind Serbia in Group A. Azerbaijan defeated Portugal 3-1. But, another duel took place in the Balkans.
Only the leader of each group is eligible to automatically qualify for the World Cup. The playoffs must be played by the second-ranked team.
Cristiano scored 10 goals to help the Portuguese team score 16 points. While the Serbian team scored 17, Cristiano scored 10.
