The singer said that like a cat, she has many opportunities, but she does not know how many opportunities there are.
Demi Lovato opened the door to her life when she talked about bulimia and certain drug abuse in the 2017 documentary “Simple and Complex”. But, as if this is a new chapter in the series, she released another documentary on YouTube that admits to a much more complicated profile of life. The title is “Dancing with the Devil” and behind it is new ideas about alcohol, drugs and even rape. Behind the addiction of (or even worse).
Do you think that the life behind fame will not be as glamorous as it seems?
I have never been famous for a role model like me. This may be why I felt so isolated when I was 12 or 13 years old. I looked at people in the media and compared myself to them. But when I lived with the reputation of the first person, I realized that nothing is perfect, no one has a perfect life, it just looks like this. That’s why I want to break through that Hollywood mask.
Before filming the truth about your life, what do you think people think about Demi Lovato?
I think people have misunderstandings about people who take drugs or have food problems, and people think they want to commit suicide. I want to tell you that many moments in my life are moments that prevent me from dying, just like they almost killed me. Sometimes they saved my life because I analyzed the thoughts of suicide and moved on instead of looking for another mechanism of destruction, and today I cannot tell my story.
How do you like Demi Lovato today?
I love how free and open my life is today. I feel that I must eliminate all prejudices in order to become the person I most identify with in my life. Today, I can say that my lack of commitment to a single identity is not due to lack of commitment, because I plan to remain open and evolve.
When your fans learn about your real life, what message do you want them to convey?
I hope everyone realizes after watching the documentary series that no one needs to be satisfied with who other people want you to be. Everyone can choose their own life. Anyone can determine what they really want to do by being surrounded by the right people and a good support system.
“Dancing with the Devil” started from another documentary and recorded images of Demi Lovato’s 2018 “Tell Me You Love Me” world tour. It was only 30 days before the worst day of her life, and the 30 days of overdose brought her to the world. Hospitalized on July 24.
-The documentary series continues the relationship between Lovato and YouTube Originals. As a follow-up to the 2017 documentary “Simply Complicated”, the documentary currently has more than 35 million views on YouTube.
-‘Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil’ is directed and produced by Michael D. Ratner of OBB Pictures. The documentary was produced by OBB Pictures and SB Projects.
