According to a report in Variety magazine, as a precautionary measure, the fourth season of the show was put on hold because a key actor or staff member came into contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.
The filming of the show starring Sonequa Martin-green has been filmed at Pinewood Studios in Toronto, Canada for several months.
The Deadline portal reported that the infected person was not part of the product and a possible contact with the discovery team was detected through the Ontario tracking system.
Obviously, the people in the performance never returned to the scene, but were in the recommended 14-day quarantine.
Ontario, Canada, where Toronto is located, is under lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Star Trek: Discovery” will air its fourth season on Paramount Plus this year.
