Los Angeles did not choose the last option in order to keep one of its best pitchers.
Clayton Kershaw was not offered a qualified offer by the Los Angeles Dodgers, as they provided free agents Corey Seager (free agent) and Chris Taylor (qualified agent).
Kershaw spent 14 years in Los Angeles during his professional career, winning three Cy Young Awards. Kershaw was a regular season starter and scored 10-8 with a 3.55 ERA. He missed the playoffs because of an injury to his left forearm. However, he is expected to be fine.
Two of the 14 players who were offered a $18.4million qualification offer for one-year are Sig and Taylor. This was before the Sunday night deadline. A player who rejects these offers but signs with another team is eligible for a draft pick.
Saturday’s announcement by the New York Mets was that Noah Sandgard, right-hander, and Michael Confort (outfielder) had both received qualified offers. Another team that has multiple offers is the Toronto Blue Jays, which includes left-handed Robbie and infielder Marcus Semien.

Simien was a free agent for the 2nd consecutive year. However, he did not receive an offer from Oakland prior to signing a $18million contract with Toronto. The collective agreement expires this month. A player can only receive a qualifying offer once in his entire career.
Eduardo Rodriguez of Boston, Nick Castellanos of Cincinnati, Trevor Storey of Colorado, Ressel IIglesias of the Los Angeles Angels, Bran Dembert, San Francisco first baseman, and Nick Castellanos of Cincinnati were among those who received qualification offers.
Before November 17th, players must choose whether or not to accept the offer. Only 10 out of the 96 people who have received the offer were able to accept it since 2012 when the system was first implemented.
Star free agents not receiving such offers are: Jon Gray, Colorado right-hander, and Carlos Rodden (Chicago White Sox left-hander), and Alex Wood (Giants pitcher).
