Chuck Schumer, the Majority Leader, announced Wednesday that Abe, his father, has died at the age of 99.

Schumer described his father, as a kind, resilient man.
Schumer said, “He took on whatever was presented to him, regardless of how difficult, did his job, never complained.” “A wonderful husband, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent. We love him, and we will miss him.
According to the New York Daily News,Schumer revealed to reporters earlier this week, that his father was in hospital following recent heart surgery.
On Veterans Day, Schumer sharedA photo of Schumer’s father, who was in an electric wheelchair. Schumer thanked the father for his service in World War II.
