Delisa Tucker was only moments from her son’s funeral on Wednesday morning when she died.
Michelle Tharpe wrote that her friend and family member, Michelle Tharpe was lighting candles for her son’s funeral, but her life was cut short. “This world is so cold.”
Tucker, aged 31, was found on a 200-block sidewalk near West 110th Place by police responding to a ShotSpotter call at 12:15. According to officials, Tucker was taken to Roseland Hospital and declared dead.
They claimed that no one was nearby and that they have not been able to find any suspects in the attack on the mother or her son.
According to police, her son was shot multiple times at the exact same spot on Sunday and declared dead on the spot.
Tharpe posted the following message on GoFundMe: “He was quiet,” Rest in peace Lil Kevin.
CPD stated that the investigation into both shootings continues. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago police refused to comment on the possible connection between the shootings.
According to Tharpe, Tucker has left behind five more children.
