The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Friday that they had found that COVID-19-infected individuals were 11 times more likely not to have been vaccinated than those who had.
The CDC publishes its weekly Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Review. saidUnvaccinated patients were 10 times more likely than others to be admitted.
The study revealed that data was analyzed by the CDC from more than 600,000. COVID-19 cases from 13 states between April and mid-July.
The study also showed that those not vaccinated are 4.5 times as likely to contract COVID-19 as fully vaccinated.
“These findings reaffirm the high protection of COVID-19 vaccines against moderate and severe COVID-19 resulting in ED, UC and hospital visits and underscore the importance of complete COVID-19 vaccination and continued benefits of COVID-19 vaccination during Delta variant predominance,” the CDC said in its report.
In another studyFriday’s announcement by the CDC stated that the Moderna vaccine is more effective than the old one. Hospitalizations are less common than with the vaccines from Johnson & Johnson or Pfizer BioNTech.
