Bryson Williams, the best player of the UTEP basketball team in the past two seasons, also decided to enter the transfer portal and leave the mining team. Everything shows that he will once again follow in the footsteps of coach Rodney Terry, who left as an assistant to the University of Texas (UT) Longhorns.
In the past two seasons, the 22-year-old has been a leader among miners. After moving from Fresno State University to UTEP and teaming up with former UTEP coach Rodney Terry (Rodney Terry), Williams averaged average per game in the first full season with the Miners in the 2019-20 Scored 17.8 points and 7.2 rebounds. Last season, Williams averaged 15.1 points and 7.4 rebounds.
According to reports, Williams can join Terry at UT again as a graduate. He can also return to his hometown to play in Fresno State, where he spent two seasons at his hometown college before coming to UTEP. Or, you can get an offer from a Pac-12 conference school in Oregon or Arizona, which starts looking for Williams when he leaves Fresno.
Another option for Williams is to seek a career change, but it looks like he will seek to play sixth grade college basketball.
With the departure of Rodney Terry and the arrival of new coach Joe Golding, the miners have now seen six players enter the transfer portal.
