The French star was found guilty for trying to blackmail his former teammate via an intimate video.

Mustapha Zouaoui, the mastermind of the conspiracy, was sentenced by the court to two years imprisonment and six months. Karim Zinati, a close friend and associate of Benzema was sentenced, to a suspended sentence, of 15 months.
