BBVA recorded 1.6 billion transactions digitally during the third quarter, which was performed by almost 14 million users.
Yesterday afternoon, it happened again. It caused hundreds of people to be annoyed by the BBVA App’s failures, making it impossible for them to complete simple transactions online.
The frustration caused by many users is compounded by a string of failures in the Spanish bank’s mobile service.
The most recent failure was recorded this Monday. Data from DownDetector revealed that 54% of errors are related to BBVA’s Mobile Banking, while 34% relate to issues logging in to the app. 12 percent were caused by general problems. % for general online banking failures.
These problems are recurring. These three events, which caused frustration among BBVA users, were recorded on November 21st, 19th and 13.
Eduardo Osuna from BBVA Mexico explained how he had to deal with this situation. However, he also warned that things could get worse in the coming weeks.
El Universal reported that the manager said that the problems stemmed from multiple updates that were made to the system each month. However, these updates are not enough to satisfy users’ high demands.
It is important to mention at this point that BBVA registered 1.6bn digital transactions in the third quarter of 2018. This was 30 percent more than what was registered during the same period in 2020.
BBVA is ensuring that 60 percent of the transactions registered through their mobile properties in the last six months have been achieved by more companies, individuals, and users digitizing financial operations.
The BBVA app’s recurring failures are due to this growing and high demand. This is compounded by the difficulty of updating the systems. These problems will only increase during Christmas.
“I would love to say that it will not happen again but it does not. We are seeing tremendous growth. The time with greater transactionality is coming and what we have is all our teams fully involved in this, ”concluded the manager.
