In the protests commemorating Augusto Pinochet before the Chilean coup against Salvador Allende, at least eight people were arrested in Chile.
Madrid (European News Agency). During the almost two-year-old weekly protests in Chile, at least eight people were taken into custody. This was to promote the constitutional process.
This event marked the anniversary of Augusto Pinochet’s military coup against Salvador Allende on September 11, 1973.
According to Chilean media reports protests took place in Santiago’s Plaza Italia and the surrounding areas. The slogan this time is “Freedom of Rebellion prisoners”.
Carabinieri described the riots, launch of Molotov cocktails and burning of the canopy for public transportation. San Diego Metro shut down the Baquedano station location passage because of “foreign interference”.
The demonstrations and events on Friday afternoon did not cause any injuries to the gendarmerie.
