Dallas, 9 years old, has been declared the youngest victim of injuries sustained in a crowd surge at Houston’s Astroworld music festival.
Ezra Blount of Dallas died Sunday at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, family attorney Ben Crump said.
Blount, who was in a medically induced coma for days following Travis Scott’s Nov. 5 concert in Houston, is now the tenth victim to die following the tragedy.
A lawsuit filed by his family says the child incurred severe damage to his brain, kidney, and liver after being “kicked, stepped on, and trampled, and nearly crushed to death.”
The concert was attended jointly by the father and son, who were both nine years old.
An unruly crowd of fans rushed towards the stage, causing hundreds of deaths and numerous injuries. This is being investigated.
As Travis Scott began to perform, attendees described panicked scenes in the crowd.
A field hospital was set up on the site and treated over 300 patients. At least 13 people were admitted to hospital. Eight of the 10 victims were declared dead on the night of their concert.
