André Hazes Jr. is struggling with a burnout and is therefore taking it easy in the coming period. This was announced by his management in a statement. All scheduled performances have been cancelled.
According to his management, the turbulent time that the singer has been through is over. Things were not going according to plan in his personal life or in his professional career. Earlier this year, André Hazes and Monique Westenberg split up, with all the rumors and stories that it entailed. Hazes was always in the media, and it wasn’t often negative.
After his split with Monique, Hazes briefly went on a brief getaway with Bridget Maasland. Sarah van Soelen has now been around for approximately five months. He apologized to Monique in one of his final songs. His singing career was also affected by the corona crisis. André Hazes has now burned all that, his manager says.
“André is used to a turbulent life, but due to the corona crisis and the changes in his life, everything suddenly turned upside down,” says manager Sjoerd Bodewes. “Yet he continued to make plans the whole time. Now the time has come for him to slow down and get back to full fitness.”
Yesterday André Hazes already announced that he would cancel his performances on 15 and 16 October in Ahoy. It was deemed unprofitable with a 75 percent occupancy. This is likely due to burnout.
Bodewes explained that “the inability to perform, the uncertainty the corona epidemic has brought along with it and the developments within his private life have had major impacts.” André Hazes Jr. also had to contend with a burnout in 2018, from which he recovered.
Sarah van Soelen (Hazes’ sweetheart) is not faring so well. She was admitted to a clinic for psychological treatment to cope with media attention and all the criticism. Van Soelen, 25 years old, is particularly angry at Yvonne Coldeweijer – better known as Alberta Verlinde – who criticised her too often.
All of this won’t have had any positive impact on Hazes mental health.
